Teaching Philosophy
It is not my intention to create an agreeable environment, but to invoke a charged atmosphere where students are challenged by themselves and by one another. My objective is finding the right opportunities to interject a question or comment, keeping the discussion on track, but also allowing students to examine their own ideas. This must be done carefully, in order to allow critical thinking and creativity to take place. Ultimately, my aim is for students to continue to question and to become more self-directed in their learning. In the best of situations, a synergy takes place and possibilities wait to be sifted.
